Improve Health - Creating Fun With Physical Activity

It is no secret how important exercise is for our overall health. There are books, magazines, news and more tell us the exercise to be healthy. But how many of us actually find the time to visit the gym or go running? Also, what fun is that anyway?

It is no longer attractive to do something if you feel pressured and forced to do something. Just like having to do a project at work or go to someone's house for dinner sounds not seem like muchfun when you don't have a choice in the matter. So, how is it really possible to improve your overall health and well-being through physical activity when you can't stand running or going to the gym?

Absolutely!

Let me ask you this question first: What do you really enjoy doing? What were you doing the last time you really felt energized and enjoyed your activity? This world offers an abundance of ways to incorporate physical activity into our daily lives no matter how busy we are. Our bodies were made to move!

What can you do to increase your physical activity level (or what I like to call the amount you move) everyday in order to positively affect your overall health?

Well did you know that house work such as vacuuming or mopping can be added under the category of movement? House work is hard work! It is actually a form of physical activity that gets you moving and can improve your health! Now, husbands don't be running off to your wife saying you need to do more house work so you can be healthier! That's not what I am talking about here! House work is not much fun anyways so why would I want you to do that when this article is about enjoying the added physical activity in your daily life?

So what can you do to move more during the day? Personally, some of my interests are swimming, camping, hiking, tennis, and volleyball. Some simple ideas include taking the dog for a walk or playing with your kids at the playground. How about exploring a city nearby by just walking and taking in the sights of downtown and participating in the tourist activities? Did you think about gardening or yard work as physical activity? What about moving furniture around to change the look of one of your rooms? The options are endless!

Stop thinking that you are not physically active in your everyday life because you don't go for runs or go to the gym. How are you getting your physical activity by participating in the activities you love to do!
