These sounds are great for those times when you had a long hard day's work, you feel stressed and you just want to escape from the world.

All you have to do is light a candle, put it back, relax and enjoy the wonderful sounds of nature to escape from the world. Sounds of nature is only possible with a little help from the soothing and calming down. This is especially true if you have a day with the children screaming and you need to escape just before your head explodes.

Now, of course, there are so many different typesthat you can hear these wonderful nature soothing sounds. You can go on a camping trip and when you go just simply bring along a tape recorder to catch all the interesting sounds in the forest, you will definitely be able to record a lot. You might hear bees buzzing, birds chirping, or just the simple nice sound of the wind blowing.

Natural sounds are also great for people that have problems sleeping. These nice relaxing sounds help put you into a whole new world and sooner rather than later you will be drifting away into the wonderful world of sleep. Of course they are also great for those people who have partners that snore. Instead of having to hear that awful snoring sound that constantly keeps you awake, you can distract yourself with some soothing nature sounds.

Do This Only If You Want To Live A Healthy Life

FOR THE REST OF YOU though, you need to stop what you're doing and completely re- think your priorities. No more "I don't have enough time or I'm just too busy." BALONEY!! We all have the same hours in a day and we are all preoccupied with all the tasks we must accomplish in our lives. There is still no excuse to not set aside a few minutes EVERYDAY to protect your LIFE.

Reprogram your idea of what you have to do and start doing what you NEED to do. Your life should be the most important task on your list. If you keep ignoring the importance of your health and skip those 30 minutes of exercise a day then, when you're older your body is going to FORCE you to slow down and make time for it. It may include injecting yourself with a needle a couple times a day to take insulin, it may be popping a few pills a day to control your cholesterol and blood pressure, or it can be having open heart surgery to fix a broken heart. Literally!! Do you remember when you were a kid and your mother told you," don't lie because it will catch up with you?" Well your body works the same way. If you keep lying to yourself by promising you will exercise today and then do everything else but... That lie is going to catch up with you and bite you in the you know what! You can't lie to yourself, you body is going to give you everything that you give it. Be true to yourself so you can live a long, healthy, and happy life. Leave your children a legacy of healthy eating and the importance of exercise. What more could you do to prepare them for life then to teach them that their health is important.

Protect your children by taking care of yourself! They are watching and hearing everything you do and say about yourself, exercise, and clean eating. How many times have you looked at yourself in the mirror and muttered, Yuck? How many times have you stopped to get ice cream and said heck I deserve this after the week I've had? Or how many times have you tried on an outfit and asked your spouse or friend, does this make me look fat? Your children are hearing all of this and taking it all in. They are forming their own opinions and prejudices based on these things. Whether exercise is important, how they feel about self indulgences, their self image. After all, if Mom thinks she is ugly and overweight and everyone says I look like her, well what does that make me? Think about these things mom. Did you ever hear your mother say these things about herself?

I want to challenge you!! I want to challenge you to make September the month that you get up and move everyday for the next 30 days. Just move your body for 20-30 minutes every single day! Find an activity that you like, if you like dancing- join a Zumba class or turn up the music and dance while you sweep the floors, (I mean really dance), if you like kicking and jumping take up a kickboxing or karate class. If you like running, sign up for a local 5K and run while you raise money for a charity. If you get bored easy, sign up for a boot camp style class or circuit training. If you lack motivation, sign up with a personal trainer and get motivated! Grab those dusty old dumbbells and start building some muscle. There are hundreds of things you can be doing to move your body. Take a walk around your neighborhood, play a game of freeze tag with your children in your own yard, go to the park and participate instead of just surveillance. Rediscover your inner athlete and move your body. Write down the obstacles that might cause you issues with this challenge. Go through them and also include how you will overcome them.

For Example:

1. Not enough time to workout
2. How can you make time, pack your tennis shoes and walk during lunch
3. Watch 30 minutes less television
4. Do a fast interval and push yourself really hard

Planning will prepare you for those excuses which are really just hidden reasons why you're too scared to change. After all, if you change what will you complain about? If you are healthy, active, happy, and reaching your goals-then you have nothing to lose. By simply controlling your body by feeding it often and the right kinds of foods, exercising daily, and getting more sleep- you can control all aspects of your life. It gives you the courage to find a new job, venture off on your own, enter a marathon, engage in conversations with strangers, smile more, and have excitement about life. You can't help it; those endorphins provide a relaxing mood. Living a fit and engaging life is awesome. If you had a secret that provided the key to happiness wouldn't you want to share it with everyone you love.

That is how I feel about exercise and Fun-trition. It makes life so much more attractive! I feel as if I can conquer the world, like the story of David and Goliath. I share this secret with my children, my friends, and my family- I do this because I love them and happy and healthy. I want to live life as completely as possible and, above all, because I want to protect them from disease, as far as I can. So are you ready for the challenge in September? Let Us together and make a real change in our body and mind.

Calamus and kyphi recipe

Calamus Root, (Acorus calamus) is also known as Calmus, Sedge, and Sweet Myrtle.  It is a wonderfully spicy, aromatic, and very cinnamon-like fragrance that has been enjoyed since at least The Epic of Gilgamesh where it is mentioned as an incense ingredient. It is also referenced in the Bible as one of the ingredients of the anointing oil in Exodus 30:23.  The Egyptians used it for the Kyphi recipes as well.

When reading a book about Medieval times I discovered that it was also as "scattered herbs," because people are "scattered" in those days, well, on their shelves, along with mint and lavender to help with insect problems. I thought it was great and would be great, would be in modern times, apart from the fact that the terrain is similar to that of a motorway service station. However, the next time I go camping I think I shed a little 'tent on the floor. Is not the control mosquitoes, but it smells wonderful.

As the scentis warm, spicy, woody and very much reminiscent of cinnamon, it works very well with the following ingredients. Cedar, Myrrh, Patchouli, Borneol Camphor and Benzoin.

Although complicated, here is a wonderful Kyphi recipe where Calmus is featured.

4 parts Frankincense

2 parts Mastic

1/2 part Juniper berries

1/4 part Calmus

1/4 part Galangal

1/2 part Cardamom

1 part Cinnamon bark

1 part Myrrh

1 part Lemon Grass

1/2 part Rose leaves (dried rose buds)

1 part Benzoin of Siam

1 1/2 part Sandalwood

Pinch of Aquillaria wood

1/2 part Honey

Tablespoon at a time of rich red wine

8 parts Sultana raisins, unsulfured.

Soak the raisins overnight in red wine and pulverize the frankincense, myrrh, mastic and benzoin with a mortar and pestle.  Pulverize individually the cinnamon, juniper berries, calmus, galangal, cardamom and sandalwood.  Mix all the ingredients together and cut the lemongrass and crumble the rose buds.  Use 1/2 teaspoon of aquillaria wood to 1 cup of this mixture.  You can do without the aquillaria wood if it is not available to you.

Remove the raisins from the wine and blend everything together with a blender so that it is pulverized then use the honey to add to the mixture so that you get a dough-like substance that you can knead well and easily.  You can either crumble it in your palms and allow it to dry (turning it often over 7 to 14 days) or you can roll it into pea-sized pellets as the Egyptians preferred and allow to dry as above.

Congratulations, it is one of the more complex and difficult recipes from antiquity but one that is well worth the effort.

Tips for a healthy lifestyle and improved well-being

Everyone wants to have a healthy lifestyle if they can afford it. There's no step by step guide to maintaining good health, but we can surely try with these tips to a healthy lifestyle.

Eating healthy tops the list. As the saying goes, "We are what we eat." Think of this whenever you feel like pigging out. We need to have a balance of fruits, vegetables and meat to be able to store energy and function well. Apart from this, we can also take vitamin supplements to help keep the body energized.

Limit caffeine intake. The regular cup of coffee in the morning plus a soda for lunch is acceptable. Once you've found yourself going for about six cups of coffee a day and start getting palpitations, it's time to cut back on caffeine. You can do this by drinking decaf or replacing soda with juice.

Exercise regularly. Physical activity might be hard especially when we lead busy lives, but we should make it a habit of exercising even for just thirty minutes a day. Exercising is also good for the heart and improves the body's circulation. It also improves stamina, flexibility and coordination.

Weigh yourself frequently. It's always helpful to know if you've gained or lost weight to determine how much you should eat. A dramatic increase-decrease in your weight is also not healthy and might mean that something's not right.

Schedule general checkups. You should always visit your doctor to make sure that you are in tiptop shape all the time. Moreover, if there's a serious health concern, the doctor can advise the treatment to be used.

Avoid bad habits like smoking and drinking. If you feel that you can't completely eliminate them from your life, it wouldn't hurt to try. There are a number of ways which can help you quit smoking, including nicotine patches. Drinking, on the other hand, can be reduced by spending nights at home instead of going out with friends.

Learn to deal with stress. This might sound impossible, because almost everyone deals with stress. Stress is inevitable, but when dealt properly, can make our lives easier. If you feel like your life is getting too stressful, you can always use different techniques to combat it. For some people, a mere conversation with a friend or loved one helps ease the stress. One of the most important tips to a healthy lifestyle is to stay happy and eliminate the negativity in our lives.

Remember to have fun. Some people take life too seriously and forget to have fun. This leads to worrying and is bad for health. Besides, most things that people worry about never really happen. Forget the past, wait for the future, and live in the present moment. Whether its school or your current job, you have to enjoy doing it to be at the peak of your health. Everyone has problems and issues to deal with, but the tips to a healthy lifestyle are to live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute of it.
