Let me just tell you before you even have time to think about it...
You are!
And truthfully, we all are.
It's no secret that we all carry the mantle of being our own worst critics; and that's most certainly a difficult pattern to break.
But as I've mentioned many times, in many different ways and through a variety of themes, the key to changing your mindset is not to resist what's natural, but instead to alter your perspective.
So here's a very quick and easy mental exercise I want you to do each and every day for a minimum of 21 days consecutively (reputed to be the least amount of time required for a thought process to become habitual).
Track the little progressions you see yourself making.
Notice them for longer than just a fleeting moment.
Write them down in a journal so they embed in your sub-conscious.
Mentally refer to back to them at least twice a day (noon and before bed always works for me).
The small victories and consistency is what we're after.
You couldn't pass Grade 2 in 6 weeks.
You couldn't obtain a Master's Degree in 3 months.
You couldn't pay off your mortgage in a year.
You couldn't get a promotion after only 5 days on the job.
It's natural law that everything we want takes time. We can't rush the process but don't want to become agitated by that fact.
Your small victories can easily become drowned out by the anxiousness of attaining your ultimate goal.
So don't let them.
Change your perspective by focusing on the small stuff.
The journey will be more rapid and fun when you do.
Decide,
