Here's an interesting statistic I read about just a couple of days ago:
Between October 31 and December 31, the average American will gain 8 pounds of fat.
Halloween candy, Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas buffets with the family, it seems, catches up rather quickly.
And I'd be willing to bet there are people in your life who will be very much the 'average American' this coming Holiday season.
Friends.
Family.
Spouse.
But does this have to happen to you?
One of the most important and critical cornerstones of iDecide Fitness can be found in the name itself -
DECIDE.
Yes... Halloween candy is scrumptious (and the single-serving-sizes certainly give the illusion that eating them is 'no big deal').
Yes... Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing is absolutely delicious (with most years, the 4th plate full tasting just as good as the 1st.... Not to mention the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwiches the day after).
Yes... Christmas dinner with the family is a delightful affair (and the 10 cookies plus mug-full of Egg Nog you'll be leaving for Santa has to be consumed by someone, right?).
People close in your life WILL be part of the "8-Pound-Club" starting next week.
All that food certainly does taste wonderful.
But please, I'm begging you, DO NOT fall prey to the mentality that gets you believing restrain and directed focus on your fitness goals is somehow out of your control.
Gaining 8 pounds of fat is NOT because the Holidays present scenarios that are too difficult for you to resist....
It's a DECISION.
And remember this quote:
